Taxpayers who have an overdue debt and haven’t responded to contact attempts and requests to pay may receive a pre-referral warning letter. The ATO began issuing pre-referral warning letters on 14 November. If you receive a letter, we encourage you to pay the debt, or risk being referred to the ATO’s external collection agency. If you are unable to pay your debt or wish assistance negotiating a payment arrangement, please reach out to us, we are here to help.
